Richard Quinn CPHC - Owner: Quinn Passive House Consulting
Richard grew up around construction in Ireland, working with his father and brother as soon as he was able reach the scaffolding, but it wasn’t until much later when he heard about Passive House for the first time that his passion was truly ignited. He continued working as an elementary school teacher in Ireland while developing a fascination with the principles of Passive House. He would make small modifications to his home and advise friends and family on ways to make their homes more efficient with some easy to implement strategies.
In early 2020 he took the opportunity to make a career transition by becoming a full time Passive House Consultant. He has completed a range of courses, including CPHC and PHPP. Richard has completed a number of retrofit projects in Ireland, the US amongst others. He is proficient in the use of Therm, Flixo and Heat3 software for creating and analysing thermal bridge models.
The experience gained working with an accredited Passive House Certifier and being a retired school teacher has made Richard a well-rounded consultant with the ability to communicate efficiently with homeowners and contractors about the processes involved in bringing a project to the certification stage.
