What is Passive House?
Passive House is a world-renowned building standard that was developed in Germany in the 1990s. It is the leading international low-energy design standard. The Passive House standard has been adopted by several countries as a requirement for all new residential and government buildings.
The standard considers the comfort and health of the homeowner along with requiring an energy efficient, long-lasting home.
It can be broken down into 5 basic principles:
Airtight construction
Continuous thermal insulation
High performance windows
Heat recovery ventilation (HVAC)
Thermal bridge free construction
My goal is to advise and assist clients in achieving Passive House status for their homes or developments. As a Certified Passive House Consultant I work with homeowners, architects, developers , designers, and construction professionals to make achieving Passive House an efficient and cost-effective process.
I have experience in creating Passive House Planning Packages (PHPP) for single family homes. I am also proficient with Flixo, Heat3, and Therm software in creating and analysing thermal bridges for Passive House Certification.
